Lintorgi is starting a closed beta program for Lintorgi Desktop. If you’d like to be a beta tester, send a message to waitlist@lintorgi.com.
What is it?
Lintorgi Desktop is a desktop application for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It provides a graphical user interface for LintorgiDB, the nestgraph database. Lintorgi Desktop helps engineers store, share, organize, and visualize their engineering design data.
Why make it?
Existing databases for engineering design data don’t feel good. Almost all engineers use a hierarchical database that stores data in a tree structure (folders and files, assemblies and parts). Hierarchical structure is great for data that can be neatly separated without overlaps, but it fails to accurately represent the types of relationships that exist in engineering.
- Have you ever gotten lost in a maze of folders, searching for that one file?
- Do you want a system diagram that connects directly to design data?
- Do you want better, faster system documentation?
If any of these points resonate, Lintorgi Desktop was made for you!
How is it different?
Lintorgi Desktop uses a nestgraph database to represent relationships among data in terms of flow, location, and composition. These relationships answer questions like:
- Where is an engineering component active?
- How are individual pieces connected?
- How does stuff flow through a system?
- What are the sub-components of a part?
This nestgraph structure is suitable for many types of engineering, which makes it great for cross-functional, multidisciplinary engineering efforts. Lintorgi Desktop gives engineers one database for all their engineering data. Keeping everything in one place makes collaboration and development better.
